Search high and low. Across the state or across the nation. We, at Journeyman, believe you will not find a better teammate. And we love filling our Hall of Fame with great teammates. This one sets the bar. I am speaking of William Mollica.
At the end of the day, what’s more important than being a good teammate? We have all seen great players. Some lacked humility, some play the game for individual achievement, and some wanted the spotlight for themselves. Rest assured Will has set the bar for all Journeyman to aspire to. Will’s goals are evident: support the team, complete the tasks assigned, respect all involved, and win! His competitive drive is also incredible. He has provided countless memories of good sportsmanship and the staff has heard countless testimonials of Will’s admirable behavior.
Some of Will’s individual achievements include JJE-44 Division 2 6th Man Award Winner, JJE-45 Division 2 Team Leader Award Winner, SJE-63 Senior Division Tournament Point Leader and SJE-63 Senior Division Most Valuable Player and SJE-70 Senior Division Most Valuable Player. Will has achieved 2 Career Triple Doubles, achieved an impressive 36 Career Double Doubles, has received Player of the Game honors 24 times and has been a YAMO All-Star 5 times! He has accomplished these tasks with solid footwork, great floor IQ and unselfishness and all while making the entire team feel good about it.
In Will’s final session as a Journeyman he played for our SELECT Basketball program. We would learn so much more about Will. Not only did he display some of the best fundamental skills we have seen in years, but he displayed the best in competitive nature, especially when facing adversity. Will never appeared intimidated and never played the victim. And as you could imagine, he stayed late and encouraged all younger teams to do the same.
Our staff here at Journeyman are very proud of the man he has become. He has embodied the best skills and characteristics of our program. Our younger players respect him and aspire to his character. The teams that have yet to select him have no idea of the values they will receive. Please join us in congratulating Will Mollica, a true Journeyman.
